About Dr. Simsek
Dr. Tugce Simsek trained in ear, nose and throat surgery, which is the specialty that owns the inside of the nose as well as the outside of it. In practice that means the airway and the shape are assessed in the same consultation rather than in two, and an operation that changes one is planned around what it does to the other.
Her work concentrates on septorhinoplasty, on breathing problems that have a structural cause, and on revision surgery, where a nose has already been operated on once and the anatomy is no longer the anatomy a textbook describes. Revision work is slower, it draws on cartilage from further afield, and it is planned over a longer horizon than a first operation.
She also reviews the clinical content on this website: the technique descriptions, the recovery timelines, the risk sections and every figure quoted from a published study.

Operations and conditions
Drawn from the areas of interest Dr. Simsek states. Each one links to the guide that explains it: what the operation does, what recovery looks like and what to ask before you agree to it.
Operative photographs
Five noses operated on by Dr. Simsek, photographed on the table at the start and again at the end of the operation. They are published as supplied: cropped, but not retouched, graded or lightened.
What you are looking at, and what you are not
The second frame in each pair is the nose at the end of the operation, not the nose the patient lives with. Swelling and bruising follow the operation rather than precede it, most of the swelling settles over the first few months, and the shape is not final for around a year. Skin thickness, the starting anatomy and the reason for operating all differ between these patients and between them and you. What recovery actually looks like sets out the timeline these photographs sit at the very start of.
Asking Dr. Simsek a question
A message sent through this site reaches Dr. Tugce Simsek. Say what bothers you about your nose, whether you have had surgery before and whether you have trouble breathing through either side, and you will get a more useful first answer. It is a written reply rather than a medical consultation, and a consultation is still the thing that settles a plan. Send a question.
