Corrections

If something here is wrong, we want to fix it and say that we did. This page explains how to tell us, what happens next, and why a correction is recorded on the page rather than quietly edited away.

How to tell us

Email akya.karahan@flymedi.com with the page address and what is wrong. If you can point to a source, that speeds everything up, but it is not a requirement: telling us something reads wrongly is useful on its own.

We aim to acknowledge within five working days. A clinical correction goes to the medical reviewer before it is published, which can add time, and we would rather be slow than wrong twice.

If you are a doctor named on this site

You can correct anything on your profile, send us details to add, or ask to be removed. All three are free, and a payment changes none of them.

  • To correct a factual error, tell us what is wrong. We will correct it and update the date on the page.
  • To add or change a detail, send it. Training, the operations you work on, languages and the city you practise in are the fields a profile carries.
  • To be removed, ask. We will remove the profile without argument and without asking why.

How a correction is recorded

A substantive correction is noted on the page itself, with the date and what changed, rather than silently overwritten. A typo is just fixed. The distinction is whether the error could have changed what a reader thought or did.

Every page also carries a last-reviewed date, which moves when a page is materially changed. A page that has been corrected and re-read shows both.
