Conflicts of interest
This site tells readers to find out who is behind the clinics they are considering, so it can hardly be vague about itself. There is one relationship here worth knowing about, it is structural rather than incidental, and this page states it before you find it somewhere else.
The conflict
Dr. Tugce Simsek reads the clinical pages on this site before they are published. She is also one of the doctors listed on it, and a question sent through the site can reach her.
Those facts together mean the person who checks our clinical pages for accuracy is also somebody who benefits when a reader decides to get in touch. That is a conflict of interest by any reasonable definition, and no amount of process removes it. What process can do is make sure you know about it before it matters to you, which is what the rest of this page is for.
What we do about it
The word "independent" is absent from how this site describes itself, and it stays absent while the clinician who reads these pages is also one of the doctors listed on them. We would rather lose the word than use it while it is doing no work.
- The disclosure appears before the content it qualifies, on her profile, on the about page and on the enquiry form, at full body size. It is not in a footer and it does not fold away.
- Her profile is written to the same rules as every other profile. The same fields, in the same order, from the same kind of source.
- The enquiry route names its recipient on the form, before you type anything. One named doctor, never a broadcast to several clinics.
- The clinical review is about the page, not about the reader. A reviewed page says nothing about who should operate on you.
How money reaches this site
This site is published and funded by the organisation that operates it. The pages carry no display advertising, no sponsored articles and no affiliate links, and the doctors listed here work with us directly. If the commercial arrangement changes, it is described here and on the advertising and sponsorship page before it happens rather than after.
Something worth knowing about Turkish law
Turkish regulation published in the Official Gazette on 12 November 2025 permits a health professional to be listed on a platform only where the listing is not paid-sponsored and is not aimed at giving that professional prominence. Under the rules as they stand, a surgeon listed here could not lawfully buy placement even if we offered it. Declining money is not only our preference here; it is what the counterparty is permitted to do.
Hold us to this
If you find a page where the disclosure is missing, where the reviewer's profile reads more favourably than the rules allow, or where an enquiry route does not name its recipient, that is a defect and we want to know. Tell us.
